Part of Tri-Star Design's competency lies in all forms of product design related to electromagnetic compatibility. This includes both conducted and radiated emissions and immunity for North America, European and world-wide regulatory approvals. Tri-star Design specializes in providing design and layout review of any type of printed circuit board from the schematic level (review and analysis), design/layout, and onto production, including assistance with certification testing.

Tri-Star Design also performs evaluation and design assistance for regulatory safety standards. Design services include design and layout review of any type of printed circuit board from the schematic level (review and analysis), design/layout and assistance with certification testing. Tool utilization permits easy verification of creepage distance clearance.

The final test phase of each new product development at Tri-Star includes a series of tests used to stress temperature, voltage and vibration as a means to identify any marginal operating conditions.

Upon completion of the Design Verification Test (DVT), each product undergoes a corner test in which each maximum variation of voltage is tested while operating at extreme variations of temperature. A comprehensive set of board diagnostics is run during the test as a means to identify errors.

In addition to corner testing, each product undergoes a Highly Accelerated Life Test (HALT) involving temperature cycling and random vibration between 20Hz and 2KHz.

Both tests are used as a means to reduce the probability of in-service failures and increase the product's reliability.
